Darlene Robertson

Darlene Robertson, 80, of Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, November 12, 2018, in Bethany on 42nd , Fargo, ND.

Darlene Joyce Martin was born February 18, 1938, the daughter of George and Frances (Buffington) Martin, in Cottonwood Falls, KS. She was raised in Kansas where she graduated from high school. On November 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Merl L. Robertson. They made their home in Rocky Ford, CO, where Darlene worked for American Crystal Sugar during their yearly harvest campaigns.

In 1976, they moved to Moorhead and over the years Darlene worked for deLendrecie's Department Store and then Herbergers until her retirement. Darlene and Merl continued to live in Moorhead until his passing on April 26, 2013. In the summer of 2018, she became a resident of Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead.

Darlene was very crafty and good at decorating. She also enjoyed quilting and shopping. Darlene loved her family and was very devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always the family caregiver, she cared for Merl during the last few years of his life.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue (Jeff) Winter, Glyndon, MN, and Pam (Rob) Cernik, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Melissa Matthys, Mitchel Kramer, Tyler (James) Winter, Brad (Chelsey) Winter, Heather (Thomas) Opgrand and Alexis Cernik; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher and Daniel Matthys, Brynlee and Joss Winter, and T.J. Opgrand; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merl; son, Marty; and brothers, Donald and Harold.

Memorials may be directed to Ethos Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

A Visitation for Darlene will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Funeral Service will be Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM in Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
