Daniel R. Lerfald, age 76, of Fargo, ND, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at The Meadows, Fargo, ND.
Daniel Reuben Lerfald was born January 9, 1945, the son of Reuben and Edith (Tannahill) Lerfald, in Grand Forks, ND. He was raised on farm in rural Mayville, ND. He attended Mayville (ND) State University and later received his master’s degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo.
On June 1, 1969, Daniel was united in marriage to Cynthia D. Larson in Bisbee, ND. They made their home in Fargo, ND where they raised their two children. Cynthia passed away on June 24, 1996. Daniel continued to make his home in Fargo and on February 14, 1997, he was united in marriage to Sharon Ambeuhl. In October of 2021, Daniel became a resident of The Meadows.
Daniel enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and going for coffee.
He is survived by his children, John (Jenna) Lerfald, Waconia, MN, and Allison (Jacob) Haile, Fargo; grandchildren, Ellie and Sophia Lerfald, and Jaiden and Cynthia Haile; brothers, Arne (Cindy) Lerfald, and Neil (Kathy) Lerfald; sisters, Lois (Greg) Welman, Cyndy (Michael) Holter, Evy (Jim) Schilling, Sue (Greg) Grimstad, and Becky (Mark) Tastad; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cynthia; and brothers, Arden and Sid.
A Gathering of Friends for Daniel will be Friday, June 24, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His Celebration of his Life will be Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10:30 am, in Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, ND, with burial in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery.
