Christine Carlson

Christine M. Carlson, 59, of Perley, MN, died on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. 

Christine Margret Vaineo was born on June 12, 1964, to Paul and Ann (Lessor) Vaineo, in Duluth, MN. Christine was raised in Cloquet and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1982. After high school she moved down to Oklahoma for a year.  After living in Oklahoma, she moved to Fargo, ND, where she met her first husband, Bernard. Christine and Bernard were married in 1983 and in 1984 their son, Brandt, was born. Christine and Bernard later got divorced. Christine met Dennis Carlson and on May 10, 1990, they were united in marriage. They moved to Perley in 1992, where they made their home. Together they had two children, Carmon, in 1992 and Dennis, in 1994.

Christine went to college for drafting. She worked for a few years for an architectural firm, as a drafter. She also worked various other jobs including at different restaurants and gas stations. 

Christine enjoyed riding snowmobiles and motorcycles. She grew a garden that she cared for, mostly growing vegetables. She loved doing crossword puzzles and watching her shows, including Gold Rush. She also loved the time she could spend with her family and friends. 

Christine is survived by two children, Brandt (Rachel) Vaineo and Carmon (James) Stetz; grandchildren, Hailey, and Hannah Vaineo; her father, Paul; and siblings, Vicky, Lisa, Mark, and Mike. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Carlson; son, Dennis Floyd Carlson; granddaughter, Chloe Susan Vaineo; mother, Ann Vaineo; and brother, Donn Vaineo.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 2 PM, with a visitation one hour prior, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN. Christine's Memorial Service will be livestreamed and can be viewed right here on her obituary page.
