Cheryl Ann Ruud

Cheryl Ruud, age 66, of Moorhead, MN, departed this world unexpectedly on May 27, 2025, in the comfort of her beloved home. With heavy hearts, we gather to celebrate the vibrant spirit that she was.

Join us in honoring Cheryl’s life at a Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 19th, from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Barrell Room of the Drekker Brewing Company in Fargo. In the spirit of Cheryl’s colorful personality, we invite you to don your brightest attire as we share cherished stories.

Born in St. Paul, MN, and lovingly adopted by Edward and Gladys (Machulda) Liebl, Cheryl's journey began on a farm in rural Mahnomen, MN. After graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1976, she made her way to Moorhead, MN, contributing her talents at Norwest Bank, Slumberland Furniture, and for the last several years, at Shotwell Floral.

Cheryl’s sense of humor was a gift she shared freely; her infectious laughter and contagious energy could brighten even the dullest of days. Whether attending concerts at Blue Stem, enjoying car roll-ins, finding a good bargain, or savoring her morning lattes, she lived life passionately. She loved her family deeply, and she treasured the annual holiday gatherings in Brainerd and Alexandria, along with the "sister" weekends that marked every spring and fall.

She embraced her love for hard rock music and bright colors which mirrored her hippy spirit. Cheryl had an eye for design, harmonizing fashion and decor in her own uniquely colorful way. An exceptional cook, she added her own twist to recipes, delighting friends and family with her culinary creations. Her love extended to our four-legged friends, as she eagerly awaited opportunities to pet sit for those she cherished.

Cheryl leaves behind a loving sister, Annette (Ken) Krebsbach of New Prague, MN, nieces and nephews, and a circle of devoted friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Rest in peace, dear Cheryl—you will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in our laughter and love.
