Cheri D. Milligan, 52, of Barnesville, MN, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, in Sanford West, Fargo, ND.

Cheri Denese Bigalke was born August 10, 1971, in Glenwood, MN.  She spent her early years with her family in Minnesota before moving to Fargo, where she graduated from Fargo South High School in 1989.  After high school, she embarked on her professional journey working at Dan’s Oil in Fargo for several years.

In 1998, Cheri was united in marriage to Boyd Milligan and they made their home in Fargo.  She later moved to Barnesville in 2004 and pursued a career at the Barnesville Children's Center as a teacher and a customer service clerk at Cenex.  She was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barnesville.  

One of the greatest joys in Cheri's life was spending time with her loved ones, including family and friends who meant so much to her. However, above all else, Cheri found tremendous fulfillment as a devoted mother.  

She will be dearly missed by her children, Tyler Milligan and Kaytlyn Ernst, both of Barnesville; mother, Mary Montplaisir, Barnesville; brother, Warren Bigalke, Fargo; stepsiblings, Kelly (Ron) Karnack, Minot, ND, Steve (Melanie) Montplaisir, Fergus Falls, MN, and Patrick (Karen) Montplaisir, Owatonna, MN; many nephews, nieces, extended family as well as special friends. 

She was preceded in death by father, Edward Montplaisir; three uncles: Bob, Dennis, and Roger Keppler,; one aunt, Mary Ann Arens; and her grandparents.  

Cheri will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family and for the positive impact she had on those around her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Visitation for Cheri will be Friday, February 9, 2024, from at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with 6:30 PM, Prayer Service in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barnesville.  Her Funeral Service will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in St. John’s Lutheran Church with a visitation continuing one hour prior to the service.
