Bonita R. Brandt

Bonita "Bonnie" Brandt, 76, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Bethany On University in Fargo.

Bonnie was born on May 31, 1949, in Fargo, ND, to Gerald and Dolores (Griffin) Larson. She was raised in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1967. In 1969, Bonnie married Maurice W. Brandt in West Fargo, ND. Following their marriage, she worked as a bank teller and also sold home interior decorations and Tupperware. Bonnie and Maurice welcomed two children, Heath in 1972 and Heather in 1975, prior to their divorce in 1975.

While raising her children, Bonnie enrolled at Minnesota State University Moorhead and North Dakota State University, eventually earning her Master's Degree as a Therapist. She dedicated her career as an In-Home Family Therapist with Lakeland and Lutheran Social Services, and she opened her heart and home as a foster parent to over 400 young ladies, providing a nurturing environment during their times of need.

Bonnie had a passion for music from the 1950s and 60s, enjoyed shopping, and loved to collect gnomes, Betty Boop, and Coca-Cola memorabilia. She was also a devoted pet owner, cherishing her beloved cats, "Dinghy," "Willow," and "Cinder," as well as her favorite dogs, "Cotey," "Mable," "Puddles," and "London."

In early 2020, Bonnie faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease. With the loving support of her daughter Heather and granddaughter Jerakhi, she continued to live at home until 2022. After selling her home, she moved to Bethany On University, where she received compassionate care from the staff at Bethany and Ethos Hospice.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Heath (Amanda) Brandt and Heather Parchman; she is also survived by seven grandchildren, Katlyn Hansen, Grace Fortier, Lexus Richardson, Myka Brandt, Taylor Brandt, Jerakhi Parchman and Paige Klinghagen; and one stepdaughter, Nichoel (Brent) Klinghagen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
