Betty J. Krabbenhoft, age 92, formerly of Sabin, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Farmstead Living- Assisted Care in Moorhead, MN.
Betty Jean Johnson was born on January 6, 1930, in Warren, MN, the daughter of Clarence and Libby (Kliner) Johnson. Betty grew up in the Euclid, MN, area and graduated from Fisher High School in 1948. For over 5 years, Betty worked at Northwestern Bell in Fargo, ND. On July 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Marvin Krabbenhoft at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN.
Betty and Marvin started raising their family as residents in Sabin, while Marvin worked on the farm southeast of Sabin. In 1970, they built a home on the farm and resided there for over 40 years.
Betty and Marvin were long time members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin where Betty was very active in the ladies’ groups.
Betty loved gardening, cooking, reading a good novel, and during her later years, she enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and golf. Her chocolate chip cookies, peach pies, and numerous casserole dishes were simply outstanding. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by so many.
She will be remembered and missed by her four sons, “Betty’s Boys”, Keith (Darla) of Sabin, MN; Terry (Connie Ness) of Moorhead, MN; James of Sabin, MN, and Roger (Bonnie) of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Adam (Tara), Austin (Valerie), Rowan, and Hanna; two great-grandchildren, Rylan and Rhianna. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin (2017); sister, Rose Swartz; sister, Laura Kluzak; brother, Leo Johnson; brother-in-law, Thomas Kluzak; and sister-in-law, Francis Johnson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Farmstead Living for the wonderful care given to Betty during her stay, Hospice of the Red River Valley for the dignity and respect given to Betty as her health failed this summer, and special family friend, Karen Oothoudt, who greatly helped Betty and Marvin enjoy life during the later years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN.
Funeral Service for Betty will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 11am in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin.
