Benjamin R. Beggs, 69, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, May 10, 2021, in his residence in Moorhead.
Benjamin Ralph Beggs was born June 26, 1951, in Owosso, MI, to Benjamin and Bernice (Smith) Beggs. He grew up in Owosso, graduating from Owosso High School. After high school, he enjoyed travelling the country. First working for the railroad, Ben enjoyed meeting many people along the way. After several years working for the railroad, and he flew up to Alaska for many years where he was employed by the local fisheries. Ben loved working in Alaska, where he enjoyed being outdoors and the scenic views. In 2005, Ben moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area. Ben met his soulmate, Joan Johnson of Moorhead. Ben and Joan enjoyed several wonderful years together.
Ben's favorite time of the year was Fall. He enjoyed the crisp feel of the air and colors that came with the change of seasons. Ben was known by many as a compassionate and giving individual, always willing to help anyone in need. He was a simple man, who loved spending time with friends and listening to music by the Beetles and Bob Dylan. He also enjoyed spending time on-line visiting with the many friend and classmates he had made over the years.
Ben is survived by his special friend and companion, Joan Johnson of Moorhead, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louie; and one sister, Pat.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 24, 2021, at 2PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Ben's service will be livestreamed on his obituary page at www.korsmofuneralservice.com
