Benjamin M. Lee, 44, of Beavercreek, OH, formerly of Fargo, ND passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, in his home.

Benjamin Micheal Lee was born July 9, 1981, the son of Robert and Barbara (Kappes) Lee in Fargo, ND. Raised in Fargo, he graduated from Fargo North High School in 1999. During his school years Ben was an exceptional student who actively participated in various extracurricular activities. He served as an Altar Server at St. Mary’s and competed successfully in Track, Cross-Country, Baseball, Basketball and Soccer, earning recognition in numerous events.

Following high school graduation, Ben attended North Dakota State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. His dedication to service began early when he joined the ROTC and continued throughout his high school and college years. In 2003, Ben enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a Second Lieutenant and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California. During this time was united in marriage to Kylee Smith.

In 2008, he was transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. There he pursued further education from the Air Force Institute of Technology, receiving a Master of Science and Operations Research. It was during his time at Wright Patterson where he received the rank of Major before retiring on March 28, 2015. After his military career, Ben taught Statistics at Wright State University. At the time of passing he was working as a consultant for Guidehouse Inc. In addition, he cherished the opportunity to work as a Groundskeeper for the Dayton Dragons, a minor league baseball team, during the past two summers.

Ben will be deeply missed by his children, Camden, Julia, Alena and Esther; mother, Barb Lee; brothers, Thomas Lee and Christopher (Frank Abrahamian) Lee; uncles, Gale Kappes, Gary Kappes, Glen (Kim) Kappes and family, and Gerard Kappes; and aunts, Alice Gross and family and Linda Eide and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee; grandparents, Edward and Theresa Kappes and Alfred and Josephine Lee; sister-in-law, Denise Lee; and uncles, Gregory Kappes, Nathan Eide and Johann Gross.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Benjamin will begin at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, followed by a Celebration of His Life at 1:00 PM in the Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Services, Moorhead. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
