Barbara Jean Hansen

Barbara Jean Hansen, 89, of Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, a resident since 2023.

Barbara Jean Larson was born on March 30, 1936, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Leonard and Lois Mae (Armstrong) Larson. Barbara Jean graduated high school in 1954.

In 1967, Barbara Jean moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area, where she held many different jobs. She worked as a private housekeeper, before becoming a CNA at St. Luke’s Hospital, in Fargo, and as a waitress at the Tree Top, in Moorhead.

On September 11, 1971, Barbara married Earl Hansen in Fargo. Together they made their home in the FM area, until his passing in 2008. Barbara Jean and Earl were foster parents for many infants. All the babies they fostered were adopted, but she loved every baby they fostered. Taking care of them all as if they were her own child.

Barbara Jean was a cheerful and giving person. She was very encouraging and sincerely told everyone that she loved them. She enjoyed Bible study and going to church. Barbara Jean also wrote beautiful poetry.

Barbara Jean is survived by her stepchildren, Cindy Olney, Victoria “Vicky” Gulbranson, Darwin Hansen, David Hansen, Dennis Hansen, and Dale Hansen; many step-grandchildren; and several dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; sister, Patty Moss; brother, William Larson.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1 PM, with a visitation one hour prior, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. The burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
