Arlene (Mabel) Swanson, age 91, of Edina, MN, passed away peacefully, into the arms of her Savior, on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021.
Arlene Martin was born September 23, 1929, in Jefferson, IA. She grew up in Minneapolis, MN, graduated from Minneapolis Central High School, and attended Minneapolis Business College.
In July of 1949, Arlene was united in marriage to Elwood Swanson. They enjoyed traveling to many countries and spending time doting on their grandkids.
Her priorities were her faith in God, and her love and care for family and friends. She gave many years of volunteer service to her church and her community.
Arlene will be missed by her children, Susan (Brent) Lundgren, West Fargo, ND, Nancy (Chris) Monahan, Southport, CT, and Dean (Kim) Swanson, Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers of Eventide Sheyenne Crossings, West Fargo, where Arlene was a resident for the past several years.
Her life will be honored with a private ceremony in Minneapolis, at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
