Arden L. Johnson, 90, of Fargo, ND, and previously of Moorhead, MN, peacefully passed away on June 30, 2025, at Bethany on University in Fargo.
Born on April 18, 1935, in Fargo, ND, Arden was the son of Alfred and Amalia (Lynggard) Johnson. He spent his early years in Wolverton, MN, where he completed his education. In February 1953, Arden enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably overseas during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he embarked on a career as an over-the-road trucker.
On June 4, 1974, Arden married Dixie Homme, and together they resided in Moorhead. Throughout his trucking career, he worked for Twin City Freight, Midwest Truck, and notably expressed great appreciation for the Loren Richards family, whom he regarded as the finest he ever worked for.
In his leisure time, Arden found joy in fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR. He had a special fondness for his Chrysler equipped with a high-powered Hemi engine. Arden cherished spending time with friends at the Moorhead VFW/American Legion, where he built many lasting friendships.
Arden is survived by three step-sons, Rick (Cindy), Randy, and Rodney (Shelly), along with five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin and Melvin.
A graveside service for Arden will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11AM in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN, with full military honors.
