Ardella S. Midgarden, 99, of Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.
Ardella S. Midgarden was born February 22, 1919, the daughter of George and Ella (Walby) Altnow, in Barnesville, MN. She was raised there and graduated from Barnesville High School. Ardella then moved to Fargo, ND, to attend Interstate Business School, and finally to Moorhead for work at the AAA office.
On February 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Olaf Midgarden in Barnesville. They established their home in Moorhead. Olaf died December 4, 1974. Ardella continued to live in Moorhead and also bought a cottage on Pike's Bay of Lake Cormorant, MN, where she enjoyed spending time. For the last six years, she has made her home at Eventide on Eighth.
Ardella was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead and volunteered for many years there and at Eventide.
She relished reading, conversation, laughter, and spending time with family and her many friends. A hard worker, Ardella enjoyed refinishing furniture, cooking, canning, and making candy for those she loved.
Ardella is survived by her children, Bette Gene (Lee Dexter) Midgarden, Fargo, and David Lynn Midgarden, Moorhead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olaf; sister, Genevieve "Dolly" Altnow; and brother, Lundie.
A Visitation for Ardella will be one hour prior to her service.
Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 1 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
