Virginia Stohle Markey, 89, of Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, June 30, 2017, in Linden Tree Circle at Eventide, Moorhead, MN.
Virginia Elizabeth Hazard was born February 2, 1928, the daughter of Lucius and Elizabeth (Dorman) Hazard, in Cooperstown, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1945. After graduating she moved to Fargo, ND, where she attended business college and then worked for Northwest Willy's until 1946.
In November of 1946, she was united in marriage to Roger Stohle in Billings, MT. They moved to Spokane, WA, and returned to Fargo in 1952, where Virginia worked for W.W. Wallwork until 1971. After a partial retirement, she then worked for Local 1426 Electrical Workers Union until November of 1986. Mr. Stohle passed away in 1980. In January of 1984, Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Markey in Fargo. They made their home on Franklin Lake, MN, until 1991 when they moved returned to Fargo. Mr. Markey died in 2007. Virginia moved to Linden Tree Circle at Eventide in Moorhead in 2015.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Marty) Hexum-Oanes, Moorhead, and Linda (Gerald) Hegge, Buffalo, MN; stepson, Bruce (Cindy) Markey, Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren, one stepgrandchild; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Roger and Robert; stepdaughter, Nancy Oakley; and stepgrandson, Robert B. Markey.
A Visitation for Virginia will be one hour prior to her funeral service.
Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
