Roy M. Haug, 79 of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead, MN.
Roy was born March 19, 1927 in Hawley to Oscar and Martha (Heiberg) Haug. He attended school in rural Hawley and later attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. Roy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.
On May 26, 1951, Roy married Virginia Stephenson in Hawley, MN. They moved to Moorhead in 1956. During his working years, Roy worked at Red River Oil in Fargo. In 1958 he began work at North Dakota State University as a research technician in the Agronomy and Plant Pathology departments. In 1992, Roy retired from NDSU.
Throughout their married life, Roy and Virginia enjoyed their family, their cabin near Pelican Rapids, restoring cars and tractors, square dancing, gardening, camping and sports.
His family includes his wife, Virginia of Moorhead; Two sons and one daughter; Larry (Diane) Haug of Minot, ND, Ryan (Tasha) Haug of Fargo, and Laurie (Wayne) Holweger of Aberdeen, SD; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Gustav(Joyce) Haug of Hawley.
Visitation: Friday, May 5, 2006 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN (409 South 8th Street)
