Robert Ziegler

Robert Lewis Ziegler was born September 18, 1928 to Carl and Veryle (Barclay) Ziegler in Georgetown Township, MN, where he grew up and received his education. Robert worked on the family farm and for the family road construction business. He entered the US Army and served in Korea.

On November 21, 1953, he married Shirley Aabye in Perley, MN. They made their home in rural Georgetown. Robert continued to farm and work for the construction business. He also owned and operated B and S Corner Bar, Georgetown, for ten years.

Robert died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND, at the age of seventy-five.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and hunting and fishing. He loved to socialize and joke around. He will be missed by his family and his many friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley, Georgtown; three daughters, Karla Ziegler (Greg Pederson), Georgetown, B.J. (Perry) Erickson, West Fargo, ND, Connie Ziegler, Georgetown; a son, Stan (Heidi) Ziegler, Grand Forks, ND; a sister, Lorraine Finney, and two brothers, Buzz (Lois) Ziegler and Bill (Marlis) Ziegler, all of Georgetown; twelve grandchildren, Adam (Cathy) Pederson, Tabatha (Chad) Reinhart, Travis VanRaden, Cassandra Jo Erickson, Hawken Erickson, Bobby Ziegler, Nickolaus Martinez, Cheryl Wambach, Jennifer Wambach, Hailey Ziegler, Georgia Ziegler, and Emilee Ziegler; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Wambach; two grandchildren, Corrine Erickson and Gregory Wambach; two brothers, Ole and Pedo Ziegler, and a sister, Toodie Ziegler.

Interment: Wild Rose Cemetery, Georgetown
