Rebecca Reardon

October 19, 1959 — July 19, 2003

Rebecca JoAnn Reardon was born October 19, 1959, in Moorhead, MN, to Robert and Jeanette (Weiman) Reardon. Rebecca graduated from Moorhead High School in 1978, and went on to attend Northwest Technical College and Moorhead State University. In 1985, Rebecca moved to the Washington, DC, area where she received a bachelor's degree from University of Maryland at Baltimore. She worked for Computer Sciences Corporation as a project manager. Rebecca returned to Moorhead in 1999, and continued to work from her home for C.S.C. Rebecca died at her home, under hospice care, Saturday, July 19, 2003, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Rebecca was the type of person not afraid to jump in and get involved. Her enthusiastic "get it done" attitude was helpful with her involvement in Special Olympics, Boy Scouts of America, and Rotary International, to name just a few of Rebecca's interests. She had a friendly smile and shared it with everyone and everywhere she went. In Rebecca's memory, memorials may be made to Special Olympics, Roger Maris Cancer Center, or Caring Bridge (www.caringbridge.com).
Rebecca is lovingly survived by her parents, Robert Reardon of Moorhead, and Jeanette Dopp of Truth or Consequences, NM; two brothers, Ken and his wife, Evita of Albuquerque, NM, and Greg of Moorhead.
A celebration to honor the life and legacy of Rebecca will be Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 10 AM, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead. An evening visitation will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2003, from 6 - 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN, at 2 PM on Wednesday.
