Mildred "Milly” Morken Bevre

Mildred "Milly" Morken Bevre, 88, passed away peacefully in Centennial, Colorado, on Friday, November 10, 2017.
Milly was born May 5, 1929, and grew up the cherished only child of Gladys (Stach) and Norton Edlund, in Wolverton, MN. After graduating from Wolverton High School, she attended Fargo Business College, and worked at Royal Jewelers in Fargo, ND.
On June 18, 1949, she was united in marriage with Waldo "Wally" Morken in Wolverton. They farmed near Walcott, ND, until 1959, when they moved to Wolverton to own and operate the hardware store. In 1963, they moved to Sabin, MN, where they resided until 2001, when they moved to Moorhead.
Milly was busy raising her family, serving as church organist, and participating in countless service organizations. She worked at Eventide in Moorhead, MN, from 1978 until 1991, and continued volunteering there after her retirement.
After Wally passed away in 2005, Milly continued to live in their home in Moorhead. She was an active volunteer with the Moorhead Legion Auxiliary and Fargo Veteran's Hospital. In 2008, she married George "Alden" Bevre. They continued to reside in Moorhead until August, 2017, when she moved to Marion Circle Assisted Living in Centennial. Milly will be deeply missed.
Milly is survived by her husband, Alden, and his seven children; her children, Ron (Sandy) Morken, Dennis Morken, Karen (Jeff) Williams, Glen (Peggy) Morken, Linda (donnie betts) Morken, and Krista Schelhaas; grandchildren, Christopher Morken, Mara Morken, Jennifer Morken, Tina Williams-Tebay, Kaleb Morken, Russell Morken, Troy Morken, Brianne Morken, Adam Williams, Connor Neill, Seamus Neill, Jaden Schelhaas, and Kai Schelhaas; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mona Merry.
Milly was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; parents; brother, Joel Merry; daughter-in-law, Patricia Morken; and great-granddaughter, Leighanna Morken.
Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2017, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 11 AM, in The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Wolverton.
