Marcelle Buck, 95, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at Eventide on Eighth, in Moorhead.
Marcelle Torgerson was born April 30, 1922, at Comstock, MN, to Oscar and Clara (Blilie) Torgerson, where she grew up, and graduated from high school. Following graduation, Marcelle moved to Moorhead and was employed by Red Owl Grocery.
Marcelle was married to Floyd Buck September 29, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. They lived and farmed in the Kragnes/Felton, MN, area until Floyd's death in 1993. Marcelle continued to live on the farm until 1997, when she moved to Moorhead. Their home was one of faith and love - a deep faith in God and a love of home, family, friends, church and community. They enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Mesa, AZ. Their trip to Norway was special and they often shared memories of that trip. She moved to Linden Tree at Eventide in Moorhead in 2015, and to the nursing care of Eventide in December, 2016, after several strokes.
Marcelle was a Sunday School teacher at North Buffalo Lutheran Church, funeral serving committee member at Trinity, 4-H leader and township officer. She never hesitated to take a tractor or truck if her help was needed. She loved to cook and bake and the coffee pot was always on, ready for company.
She is survived by daughter, Laurie (Rick) Oberg; grandson, Chad (Leslie) Oberg; and great- grandson, Stuart; granddaughter, Dawn; sisters, Phyllis (Verdell) Jordheim, and Sharon Kotnour; sisters-in law, Maxine Torgerson, Arlys Torgerson, and Kay (Jerry) Gnoinsky; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Orlin Hudson Egge; brothers, Lyle Torgerson, Virgil Torgerson, and Duane Torgerson; brothers-in-law, Donald Hudson, Ray Egge, Erling Logan and Tom Kotnour.
The family of Marcelle sincerely appreciate your attendance, thoughts, prayers, kindness and friendship and invites you to join them for lunch and fellowship following the service. Burial will be at North Buffalo cemetery at Kragnes following the fellowship time.
A special thanks to the staff of Eventide and the wonderful nursing care of the 2nd floor staff. You are a blessing to many.
Visitation will begin at 12 PM, followed by a funeral at 1 PM, Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
