Lois Marcella Kuehl was born May 25, 1925, in Moorhead, MN, to Ferdinand and Lela (Tabatt) Kuehl, and grew up on a farm near Glyndon, MN.
Lois married John "Buddy" E. Motschenbacher on June 12, 1948, and they lived and farmed near Baker, MN, where they raised their six children. Lois worked at Holiday Inn, Fran's Food, and Highway Host in Moorhead.
John passed on January 30, 1985, and Lois moved to Park View Terrace, in Moorhead, in 1996.
Lois was a member of the Lois Club and was an avid Twins baseball fan. She was also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Lois passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, in Villa Maria, Fargo, ND, at ninety-four years of age.
Lois is survived by her three sons, Gary (Linda), Shakopee, MN, Dennis (Kaylene), Barnesville, MN, and Mark (LeaAnn), Verndale, MN; two daughters, Mary Ann (Mark) Nelson, Moorhead, and Lori Jo (Jerry) Lein, Bismarck, ND; daughter-in-law, Carol Motschenbacher, Moorhead; eleven grandchildren, Terry Motschenbacher, Todd Motschenbacher, Ben Nelson, Angela Engelhardt, Trisha Nosal, Megan Motschenbacher, Michael Motschenbacher, Jennifer Fettig, Jayney Lein, Dana Motschenbacher, and Dustin Motschenbacher; eleven great-grandchildren, Jovan Motschenbacher, Riley Nelson, Brayden Nelson, Harper Nelson, Jaci Engelhardt, Zachary Engelhardt, Taylor Nosal, Connor Nosal, Brady Nosal, Kaden Nosal, and Parker Motschenbacher; three brothers, Marvin (Beverly) Kuehl, Moorhead, Ronald Kuehl, Moorhead, and Donald Kuehl, Portland, OR; one sister, Beverly Edenborg, Moorhead; and two sisters-in-law, Eddie Kuehl and Dorothy Kuehl.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Timothy and Randy; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Villa Maria for their care offered to Lois. Memorials are preferred.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 11 AM, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial will take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, MN.
