Janna L. Hansel, 74, of Granby Massachusetts, formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
Janna was born August 10, 1943, in Fargo, ND, to the late Ewald and Evelyn (Hetager) Erickson. She grew up and lived in or near Fargo most of her life. For over 30 years, she worked as a nurse and after retirement, moved to Massachusetts, with her husband, Mark.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Fargo.
Janna loved to paint, crochet, write poetry and build an extensive angel collection. She especially loved regular ocean visits and was a lifelong avid reader. Janna was also generous to a fault and gifted afghans and quilts to many relatives.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 12 years, Mark Hansel, of Granby, MA; her sons, Paul K. Johnson and his wife Jenise, of Lakeville, MN and Eric J. Johnson and his wife Connie of Moorhead, MN. She was the cherished grandmother to Pierce K. Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David Erickson, who died in childhood.
A Gathering of Friends for Janna will be Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
