Eunice Wyland, 90, of Glyndon, MN, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo.
Eunice Verdell Boe was born September 8, 1924, the daughter of Melvin and Agnes (Pederson) Boe, in rural Pelican Rapids, MN. She was raised on a farm and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1942. Eunice attended Moorhead State Teachers College in Moorhead, MN. She taught grades one through eight in country schools for several years.
On December 26, 1951, Eunice was united in marriage to Rodney Wyland at her parents` farm. They made their home near Glyndon where they farmed and raised five children. In the 1990s they moved and built a home on Lake Lizzie. For many years during the winters, Eunice and Rodney spent their time in Arizona where they enjoyed visiting and playing cards with family and friends.
Eunice was a very artistic and creative person. She enjoyed painting, drawing, sewing, weaving and crafts.She also had a love for learning and worked as a World Book representative. Eunice and Rodney shared a love for the arts and cultural events and enjoyed symphonies, concerts, art shows and museums.
Eunice's life was guided by her strong faith in the Lord. She was a devoted wife and mother, always sharing unconditional love for her family, often putting their needs before her own. She had a soft-spoken gentle spirit combined with a wonderful sense of humor.
Eunice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rodney; children, Dan (Sharla) Wyland, Tualatin, OR, Roger (Shirleen) Wyland, Gary Wyland, Suzanne (Dave) Olek, all of Glyndon, and Alan (Rita) Wyland, Altamonte Springs, FL; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant grandson, Elijah Olek; brother, Arnold Boe; and sisters, Jean Ness and Marcia Phillips.
A Visitation for Eunice will be Friday, June 5, 2015, from 5 PM until 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 2 PM in Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon.
