Erika Sateren

February 3, 1943 — February 26, 2016

Erika Denzin Sateren passed away peacefully, knowing she was loved by so many, on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN.

Erika Denzin Sateren was born February 3, 1943 in Gudensberg, Germany, to Daniel and Kayte Denzin. After moving to North Dakota, Erika worked at the McVille Nursing Home and helped farm. Her favorite thing to do on the farm was to combine. Erika later attended and graduated from UND.

Erika raised two children, Kayte (Duane) Avdem of Pekin, ND, and Erik (Shan Shan) Sateren of Fargo, ND. Erika loved garage sales, dogs, volunteering, singing in German and spending time with her grandchildren, Emily, Rachel and Olivia Avdem and Jasmine, Lily and Alex Sateren. Her grandchildren were very fortunate to spend quality time with her and gain many wonderful memories to last a lifetime. Erika had many enjoyable years, trips and adventures with her special friend, Ilene. Erika will be missed by many of the special friends she had been so blessed with in her life, especially, Dr. Chu as he was more that her doctor, but a supporter and special friend.

Her last days were spent in an exceptional, loving environment at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead. In the short time she was there, she was well taken care of, loved and treated as a family member by all the staff.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Erika is also survived by and will be missed deeply by a sister, Hannelore (Stefan) Reber in Germany and a brother, Walter.

Erika was preceded in death by her brother, Kurt.
