Dale Osborne

Dale S. Osborne, 91, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Dale was born in Fargo, ND, on May 5, 1926, to Harry and Carrie Osborne. He attended school in Moorhead. He married Donna Weiss in 1944, and they had four sons.

In 1962, Dale married Grace Graveline, and they had a son and a daughter. Dale had worked for Northwest Airlines, and Fairmont Creamery, Moorhead, but the majority of his career was with Cass-Clay Creamery, Fargo. At the time of his retirement in 1988, he had 38 years of service. He wore the ring he received acknowledging this achievement proudly.

In the early 1990s, Dale and Grace moved from Moorhead to Turtle Lake near Lake Park, MN. Following a stroke in 2007, he returned to Moorhead, and lived in Eventide on Eighth until his death.

Dale had a generous nature, warm smile and a genuine contagious laugh. He enjoyed watching nature and animal programs, westerns, and baseball, basketball and football games on TV. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and the occasional trip to the casino. Before his stroke he enjoyed his days at the lake, keeping the house very clean and organized. He meticulously groomed the lawn on his riding mower, captained rides on the pontoon, visited with neighbors, family and friends, relaxing in front of the fire, eating at the Cormorant Pub, drinking coffee while watching the activities of boaters and skiers on the lake, and driving "deer run" in the fall, to watch the wildlife and see the leaves changing colors.

Dale is survived by five sons, Larry (Paulette), Gary (Sandy), Rick (Denice), Randy (Carolyn), and Richard (Lisa) Osborne; a daughter, Lori (Paul) Willert; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, who died in 2000; his parents; and a younger sister, Donna Benson.

Visitation for Dale will be Sunday from 4 PM until 6 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

His funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at 3 PM in Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead.
