Clayton Berg

November 23, 1925 — July 27, 2018

Clayton Berg, age 92, passed away on July 27, 2018, at the Halstad (MN) Living Center.
Edmund Clayton Berg was born in Perley, MN, on November 23, 1925, to Clarence and Emma (Kroshus) Berg. He attended eight years of schooling in Hendrum, MN.
On June 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Helen Scherfenberg and they raised two boys, Bill and Bob, in Hendrum. For many years Clayton farmed and did custom spraying in the summer and worked in building construction in the winter.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, served on the township board and was a member of the Norman County Sheriff Rescue as well as being very active in the community in other ways.
Clayton enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, roller skating and attending auction sales.
He moved to the Halstad Living Center in June of 2015.
Clayton is survived by Helen, his wife of over 70 years; their two children, Bill (Kathy Woodbury), Halstad, and Bob (Mary Roue), Hendrum; granddaughters, Jennifer (Mitch) Williams, Centennial CO, and Teresa (Scott) Ringgenberg, Horace, ND; grandson, Daniel, Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Byron Williams and Brooke and Grace Ringgenberg; and a sister, Delaine Petry, Fargo. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering to celebrate Clayton's life will be held on Monday July 30, 2018, from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Halstad Living Center, with a graveside service at 10 AM on Tuesday July 31, 2018, in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum.
