Cathaleen M. Koenig

Cathaleen Marion Jacobsen was born February 19, 1920, in Fargo, ND, to Carius and Nora (Hoover) Jacobsen. She was raised in Moorhead, MN, and attended District 23 country school. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1936.

Cathaleen married Paul Koenig on November 19, 1941, in Moorhead, and they were married sixty-two years, until Paul passed away on February 6, 2004. They were long-time members of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead. Cathaleen and Paul enjoyed all sorts of ball games (especially the Twins), attended the Minnesota State Fair for thirty years, enjoyed bus trips, dancing and playing cards.

Cathaleen volunteered at Golden Living Center, Moorhead, as well as the Moorhead Senior Center. She was named Adult Volunteer of the Year in 1996. She moved to Park View Terrace, Moorhead, in 2004. Cathaleen entered Golden Living Center in August of 2016, where she died Thursday, October 26, 2016, at ninety-six years of age.

Cathaleen is survived by her brothers, Raymond (Mavis) Jacobsen, Park Rapids, MN, Marvin (Jean) Jacobsen, Dilworth, MN, and Wayne Jacobsen, Moorhead; and sisters, Gladys (Loren) Wignes, and Marlys (James) Winter, both Moorhead, and Carol (Floyd) Emerson, Dilworth.

In addition to her husband, Paul, Cathaleen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Darlene Anderson; brother-in-law, Chuck Anderson; sister-in-law, Leona Jacobsen; and a special friend, Glen Rockne.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM, Monday, October 31, 2016, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
