George Korsmo, Owner/Licensed Funeral Director
Although George was born in Longview, Washington, he has spent almost all of his life in Moorhead. When George was five years old his Mom and Dad moved to Moorhead and opened the funeral home. George attended school in Moorhead and graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, Concordia College in Moorhead, and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he received his professional training.
In 1974 George was married to Ruth Haugland from International Falls, MN. Ruth is George's full-partner at work, as well as home. Ruth is in charge of the business office and assisting families with pre-arranging services. They have two children, James, who is married to Cindy, and Joy, who is married to Josh Herrell, and seven grandchildren, Nathan, Paul, Lucas, Caleb, Josiah, Landon and Theo.
George and Ruth live in south Moorhead and are both active in the church and the community.
Tom Pence, Licensed Funeral Director
Tom, a Minot, North Dakota native and graduate of Minot High School, received his degree in Mortuary Science from Mount Hood College, Gresham, Oregon, in 1978. Tom managed a funeral home in northwestern North Dakota for thirteen years and joined our firm in 1993.
In addition to being a licensed funeral director, Tom is also a licensed insurance agent in both Minnesota and North Dakota, able to assist families with all aspects of pre-planning their services.
Tom and his wife Brenda make their home in Fargo, ND.
Conrad Barnes, Licensed Funeral Director
Conrad, a native of Casselton, North Dakota and graduate of Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, North Dakota, received his in degree Mortuary Science from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas, in 1994. After serving his internship in Madison, South Dakota, he has spent the last 16 years serving families in communities in northeast North Dakota and most recently rural Clay County. He joined the Korsmo Funeral Service staff in August of 2012. Conrad and his son, Sheldon, make their home in North Fargo.
Ruth Korsmo, Owner/Pre-Arrangement Counselor
Barnabas "Barney", Grief Support
Barney has ben employed at Korsmo's for seven years, serving as both a greeter and "sympathy dog." His favorite pastimes are seeking out treats and swimming at the lake with his family.
