Weida "Vi" Phoebe Johnson, 93, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Eventide on Eighth.
Weida "Vi" Kastner was born August 30, 1921, in Devils Lake, ND, to Paul and Bertha (Stenzel) Kastner. She grew up on her parents' farm near Alsen, ND, and attended Alsen Public School. She attended college in Fargo, ND, and was a bookkeeper for an automobile agency, for attorneys, and for an insurance agency.
Vi was united in marriage to Allan Johnson on December 18, 1949, in Moorhead. They had one son, Paul Allan Johnson, born on August 30, 1953.
Vi was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead since 1946, serving as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, church treasurer, Ladies Guild member and officer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan, on February 9, 1969; her son Paul, on November 26, 1985; and her sister, Inez Waechter.
Vi is survived by two sisters, Ilma Bowen, Hope, ND, and Verna Kreklau, Devils Lake; daughter-in-law, Ginny Johnson, Rock Island, IL; niece, Valerie (Bruce) Severson, and their daughters, Krista (Travis) Klein and Sara (Joe) McNett, and their children, Gretchen and Kinley Klein, and Jackson and Jase McNett, all of West Fargo, ND; a nephew, Timothy (Lori) Kreklau, and their sons, Andrew (Caitlin) and Mitchell, all of Alsen; and a niece, Tara Kreklau, Fargo.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
