Victor Klassen

Victor 'Vic' D. Klassen, 83, Fargo, ND, died Friday, August 12, 2016, in Bethany on University, Fargo.

Victor David Klassen, the son of John and Anne (Koenig) Klassen, was born, May 4, 1933, in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Moorhead and in Fargo, where he attended Fargo Central.
In 1950, Victor joined the US Navy, and served for one year. In 1951, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He was stationed in Hawaii, where he stood guard for General Dwight Eisenhower. He also fought during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Victor was proud to be a Marine and attended the 1st Angelico reunions in Ohio.

On October 8, 1955, Victor married Beverly Hagen in Fargo, where they made their home. He worked as a transportation supervisor for Red Owl for many years. In 1989, the couple moved to Bismarck, ND, where Victor was the superintendent for the Super Valu warehouse. He retired in 1999.

Beverly, his wife, died in April of 2001. In 2003, Victor returned to Fargo. In 2013, he became a resident of Bethany on University, Fargo. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Mathew; his parents; an infant brother, Francis; his brother, Sylvester, and Sylvester's wife, Mary.

Victor is survived by daughters, Valerie (Dennis) Nedrebo, and Kelly (Keith) Oliver; sons, Dana (Pam), Kevin (Glenna), and Bret (Mary) Klassen; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas Nedrebo, Stephanie Nedrebo, Brittany Hagenson, Amy Murdoch, Andrew Klassen, Jennifer Mosher, Anne, John and Joseph Stras, and Kurtis Klassen; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Almyra) and Tom (Jane) Klassen; and a sister, Rita (John) Lineburg.

Visitation for Vic will be Tuesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a wake service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral mass will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 10 AM in St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo.

Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum, MN.
