Tillie Skare

Tillie Mildred Skare, age 103, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, November 14, 2014, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.
Tillie Gilbertson, daughter of Magnus and Inger (Gronning) Gilbertson, was born near Halstad, MN, on December 23, 1910. Tillie grew up on the family farm and received her education in country school.
Tillie married Sivert Skare Jr., on March 10, 1936, in Halstad. The family first lived on a farm near Ada, MN, and Tillie worked for 25 years as a nurse's aide in the Ada City Hospital. In retirement, the couple moved into Ada to live.
Her husband, Sivert, died on October 12, 1976. After his death, Tillie continued to live in Ada, and later moved to Moorhead, where she lived in Sharpview Apartments, Eventide Living Center, and finally in Eventide on Eighth. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed crocheting and solving puzzle books. Tillie truly enjoyed playing "Rummikub" with a special friend, Lauren Doda.
Tillie is survived by two sons, Warren and Wallace (Cheryl) Skare, both Moorhead; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Fern Moen; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Skare; her parents; a sister, Mabel Stole; and four brothers, Selmer, Oliver, Clarence and Bennie Gilbertson.
Visitation: Tuesday, 11 AM until 1 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at 1 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial: East Marsh River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halstad, MN.
