Tara Schlagel

Tara C. Schlagel, 16, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, October 3, 2014, in Sanford Health, Fargo.

Tara Caitlinn Schlagel was born December 16, 1997, the daughter of Scott and Camille (Lougheed) Schlagel in Shakopee, MN. As a young girl she moved with her family to Thief River Falls, MN. She later moved to Fargo where she was currently a junior at Fargo South High School. Tara was active in cheer squad, theatre tech, and Junior Classical League. She also competed in the Miss North Dakota Teen Pageant.

Tara enjoyed nature and animals, especially sitting by the dock near the Red River and exploring shops in downtown Fargo. She liked watching Anime, including, Hetalia, D. Gray-Man, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Butler, and Winx. She also enjoyed learning about Japanese culture. Most importantly, Tara enjoyed making people happy.

She is survived by her parents, Camille (Eric Behrens) Lougheed, Fargo, and Scott (Shelly) Schlagel, Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Kelly Schlagel, Fargo, and Shalayna Schlagel, Minot, ND; stepsister, Aubrey Erickson; stepbrothers, Tanner Erickson and Chad Erickson; grandparents, Glen Lougheed, Hillsboro, ND, Gary Schlagel, Valley City, ND, Clarine (Frankie) Guenaga, Orland, CA, Bill Behrens, Fargo, and Joyce (Donald) Skogstad, Fergus Falls, MN; great-grandmother, Barbara Boudro, Willows, CA; uncles, Brent (Karen) Lougheed, and Ross (Sonja) Lougheed, both, Fargo; great-uncle, Darrell (Karla) Schlagel, Fargo; and many more uncles, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Doris Lougheed; uncle, Todd Schlagel; and great-grandparents, Mary Ellen Schlagel, Rachel Doty, and Ernest Boudro.

A visitation for Tara will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral service will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in Immanuel Cemetery in Hillsboro.
