Susan Matejka

Susan M. Matejka, 56, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Villa Maria, Fargo.

Susan Mary Matejka was born August 5, 1958, the daughter of Frank and Mary Lou (Rick) Matejka, in Breckenridge, MN. She attended grade school at St. Mary's School in Breckenridge and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1976. Susan then attended college and worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn and Ramada Inn in Moorhead. In 1986, Susan went to work for GPK Products where she worked until 2008, at which time she was forced to retire for health reasons. In June of 2014, Susan moved to Villa Maria.

Susan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Joyful Noise Choir, and bowling leagues in her younger years. She enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, bingo with cousins, doing the daily crossword puzzle with her mom, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her niece and goddaughter, Bailey.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Thomas Matejka, Breckenridge, Jerry (Bev) Matejka, Gillette, WY, Nancy (Bryce) Boehler, Lisbon, ND, and Janet Matejka, Fargo; niece and goddaughter, Bailey Boehler; her aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Visitation for Sue will be Sunday from 5 PM until 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 30, 2015, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial for Sue and her mother, Mary Lou, who died on December 29, 2014, will take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Breckenridge, MN, at 2:00 PM, on Monday.
