Ruth Shuck

Ruth G. Shuck, 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, January 30, 2017, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead.

Ruth Geraldine Harfield was born December 4, 1929, the daughter of Priscilla Harfield, in White Earth, MN. She was raised and educated in Moorhead. On October 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Loren A. Shuck in Moorhead. They made their home in Dilworth, MN.

Over the years Ruth worked as a cook in various restaurants in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Loren died December 26, 1973, and Ruth continued to make her home in Dilworth. In the late 1970s, Ruth moved to Glyndon, MN, for a number of years before returning to Dilworth. In 2000, she moved to Hawley, MN, until becoming a resident Golden Living Center in January of 2016.

She was a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church. Ruth enjoyed baking, crafting, sewing, painting, arranging flowers, and cooking for other people. She will be remembered as being very generous with her gifts, and was always willing to help others in their time of need.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Royal) Erickson, Moorhead; grandchildren, Shannon Raney, Rochelle Else, Jeffrey Else, Jr., Justin Erikson and Devan Erickson; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Shawn, Robert, Elizabeth, McKayla and Serenity; great-great-grandchildren, Autumn and Isabella; sister, Jackie Thom, Redding, CA; sister-in-law, Judy Carman, Redwood City, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Loren A.; son, Loren W.; grandson, Nicholas Raney; and sisters, Fern and Barb.

A visitation for Ruth will be Thursday from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Funeral Service will be Friday, February 3, 2017, at 2 PM, in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN.

Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
