Patricia Mjoness

On Saturday, August 20, 2016, Patricia Ann Mjoness passed away peacefully in her home in Sabin, MN, at the age of 68. She fought a courageous battle against cancer and was able to remain at home, thanks to the care of her family and help from Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Pat was born March 29, 1948, in Moorhead, MN, to Clara and Julian Hanson. She was the youngest of seven children and she received her education in Dilworth, MN.

On June 6, 1980, Pat married Donald Mjoness in Watertown, SD. They made their home in Moorhead until moving to Sabin, in 2001. Pat had various jobs until working at the Moorhead American Legion for 17 years. Her co-workers and customers were like family to her. She enjoyed going to work every day and took pride in being the gaming manager. When she wasn't working, you could find her with her loved ones, doing the things she enjoyed most including cooking, cabin time, reading, playing bingo, cribbage and cards, and gardening. She was an exceptional hostess. Friends and family loved going to her home for tasty meals and fun holidays.

Pat was a strong independent woman and shared these qualities with those by whom she is survived. They include her five children, Kelly (Todd) Martens, Moorhead, Kathy (Nate) Oland, Owatonna, MN, Kirk (Natalie) Lowman, West Fargo, ND, Dana (Meghan Perry) Mjoness, West Fargo, and Melany (Douglas) Dolter, Dubuque, IA; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Welle, Jan Hanson, Donna (George) Huesmann, and Glennys Stack; a brother, Gaylon "Sonny" Hanson; sister-in-law, Debbie (Craig) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; a brother; three brothers-in-law; and a nephew.

Visitation for Pat will be Wednesday, 5 PM until 7 PM, with prayer service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service will be Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 11 AM in Dilworth (MN) Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
