OLinda "Linda" Ludemann

OLinda I. "Linda" Ludemann, 94, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

OLinda Ione Lemke was born April 23, 1922, the first of four children to Alvin and Emma (Meyer) Lemke, in Baker, MN. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Barnesville (MN) High School in 1940. On April 12, 1942, she was united in marriage to Roland "Rollie" Ludemann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN. They traveled to Ephrata, WA, where Rollie was stationed during WWII. During this time, Rollie worked as a cook at the airbase and Linda worked at a drug store as a clerk and at the store's soda fountain.

After the war ended, they moved back to Moorhead and started their family. They had three children, Keith, Mary Kay and Jeanine. When her youngest child started school, Linda became the baker in the school cafeteria where she worked for many years. She also worked some summers in the cafeteria with the Moorhead School migrant program.

Linda was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was known for her baking and gardening, becoming a Master Gardener and sharing her enjoyment of gardening with many people.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Arlien) Ludemann, Whidbey Island, WA, Mary Kay (Royal) Herbold, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Jeanine (Michael) Smith, Issaquah, WA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Ilene Neirby, and Glenis (Emmanuel) Jerger, both of Moorhead; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollie; and brother, Harold Lemke.

A visitation for Linda will be Sunday from 2 to 4 PM, with a prayer service at 3:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Monday, May 23, 2016, at 11 AM, in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
