Millie M. Austad, 77, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead.
Millie M. Austad was born August 9, 1937, the daughter of Iver and Dena (Olson) Austad, in Thief River Falls, MN. She was raised in Thief River Falls where she attended school. Millie later moved to Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School.
After graduation, she worked at Henning Truck Farm for a number of years. She then attended Moorhead State University. Millie made her home in Moorhead over the years and in the 1990's moved into Eventide Assisted Living. In 2005, she became a resident of Eventide on Eighth.
Millie had a real zest for life and enjoyed fishing, reading and crafts. She was known for making dolls which she made more than 100 over the years.
Millie is survived by her sisters, Irene Pace, Carson City, NV, Dagne Frederiksen, Moorhead, and Virginia Wappula, Hugo, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Allen, Raymond, Daniel, and Harold; and sisters, Barbara Ranum, Sylvia Ranum and Agnes Dazell.
There will be no services as Millie has donated her body for anatomical study to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks,
