Marcia "Marci" Sue Goehring, 62, of Fargo, ND, died April 26, 2017, in Bethany on University, Fargo. Marcia was born September 20, 1954, in Minneapolis, MN, to Stan and Charlotte Goehring. She grew up in New Brighton, MN, and graduated from Irondale High School.
Marcia married in 1988 and gave birth to her son, Marcus. She continued to live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area before moving to outstate Minnesota to be closer to her parents during the 1990s.
A move in the late 1990s brought Marcia to Moorhead, MN, where she found that fairy tales do come true sometimes. A chance cab ride introduced her to her future life partner, Herb Kvalle, with whom she would spend the next 15 years.
Marcia enjoyed her role as homemaker. She enjoyed baking and decorating for the holidays, and would always find unique expressions of her holiday spirit.
Following Herb's passing in 2013, Marcia moved to University Drive Manor, where she enjoyed her new residential community. She made friends quickly and enjoyed planning and organizing dinners out or in with her new neighbors.
Family and friends were Marcia's passion and delight. Marci always spoiled her family and friends with gifts to show they were in her heart and thoughts.
Cancer led Marcia to enter hospice services and skilled-nursing care at Bethany on University in late December 2016. Despite the illness taking over Marcia's body, the sight of her son, Marcus, always brought the brightest of smiles to her face.
Marcia is survived by her son, Marcus Goehring; and two sisters, Linda Goehring, Maple Grove, MN, and Kris (Geoff) Street, Revillo, SD. She also leaves behind six nieces, two nephews, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Charlotte Goehring; her brother, Kent; and her special friend, Herb Kvalle.
Marcia's family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley, 1701 38th Street S, #101, Fargo, ND 58103.
A small memorial service is planned for her friends and family on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 10 AM in University Drive Manor, Fargo.
