Judy Mehl, 75, Fargo, ND, went peacefully home to her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 3, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Judith Ann Gaffaney was born to Robert and Georgia (Cormack) Gaffaney on October 6, 1942. Judy was the oldest of six children and grew up in Fargo, graduating from Shanley High School in 1960. In 1961, Judy married Thomas Mehl in Fargo. Judy's most cherished role in life was being a mother to her five children.
Judy was a devoted stay at home mom for several years before returning to the workforce when she joined the Fargo State Parole and Probation Office until her retirement.
Judy is survived by her five children, Paul Mehl, Patricia (Todd) Nicklaus, Matthew (Audra) Mehl, John (Christine) Mehl, and Mark (Katie) Mehl; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of Fargo. She also leaves behind her five siblings, Robert (Connie) Gaffaney of Algonquin, IL, Ann (Marty) Malmberg of Fargo, Maureen Kamali of Seattle, WA, Deborah Gaffaney of New York, NY, and Kathleen (Robert) Gorman of Columbus, OH; ten nephews and two nieces.
Judy joins her parents, Georgia and Robert Gaffaney, Thomas Mehl, and Sarah Nicklaus, her beloved granddaughter.
Visitation will begin at 6 PM, followed by a Life Celebration service at 7 PM, Friday, February 9, 2018, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.
