Irene Egstad

Irene M. Egstad, 65, of Dilworth, MN, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Born in Fargo on April 7, 1949, to Earl and Alice (LaDouceur) Evenson, Irene graduated from South High in 1968.

On March 21, 1970, Irene married Duane Egstad in Fargo, and made their home in Dilworth, MN, where they lived for 40 years. Irene worked at Essentia Health for over 20 years until her retirement in April of 2014.

Irene was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, who adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to many warm destinations with her husband. They usually found themselves in a casino, where Irene enjoyed her games. She was a great homemaker who always kept her home warm, inviting, and beautiful. She enjoyed her many friends and, following retirement, always looked forward to her Wednesday morning coffee time with them.

Irene is survived by her loving husband and true partner in life of 44 years, Duane, Dilworth; children, Barbara (Steve) Krech, Eagan, MN, Duane Egstad Jr., Minneapolis, MN, Sean Egstad, Fargo, and Robyn (Robert) Usselman, Bozeman, MT; four grandchildren, Gus and Joey Krech, and Ashlynn and Ellarie Usselman; sisters, Carol Anderson, Florence, CO, and Sandra (Gilbert Jimenez) Evenson, Buellton, CA; and brothers, Larry (Brigitte) Evenson and Stanley (Patti) Evenson, both of Grand Junction, CO. Irene was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations preferred to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Visitation on Monday, February 23, 2015, from 1 PM until 2 PM, followed by a memorial mass at 2 PM in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
