Gilberto Baquera, 84, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, December 18, 2016, in his home.
Gilberto Baquera was born March 2, 1932, the son of Santos and Manuela Baquera, in Del Rio, TX, and was raised in Texas. On July 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Celia Lozano in Los Fresnos, TX. They made their home in Texas where Gilberto worked as a farmhand.
In 1988, he and his family moved to Minnesota and made Minnesota their home. Gilberto continued to work for area farmers until he retired. On January 31, 2001, Celila passed away. He has continued to make his home in Moorhead.
He enjoyed watching baseball and eating peanuts.
Gilberto is survived by his children, Gilberto, Jr., Christina, Joe (Anna Marie), Edward, David, Martin, Ester, Veronica, Angie, Anna, and Manuel (April); grandchildren, Olivia, Gloria, Rebekah, Daniel, Karley, Abby and Jonah; great-grandchild, Aries; and his extended family, Abner, Yolanda, Ajor and Asenath Arauza.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Celia; brothers, Badillo, Julian, Rodrigo; and sister, Maria.
Private Family Services will be held.
