Georgiann "Georgia" Spieker

Georgiann Elaine Tabery was born February 17, 1950, in Long Prairie, MN, to Gerald and Elaine (Meide) Tabery, and was raised on the family farm near Browerville, MN. The family moved to Fargo, ND, where Georgia graduated from Fargo South High School.

Georgia married the love of her life and best friend, Derald Spieker, on June 20, 1970, in Fargo, and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. Derald affectionately referred to Georgia as, "Brownie", for many years.

After high school, Georgia worked at the Credit Bureau, Fargo. She worked at Osco Drug, Moorhead, and then began working with her mother cleaning new homes following construction. Georgia also cleaned in private homes for many years until health issues prompted her to retire.

Georgia's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She lived life to its fullest, enjoyed crafts and decorating. Georgia loved to entertain her family and friends. She had a personality and contagious smile that people were drawn to. Georgia took pride in her home by decorating for the seasons and spending many hours planting flowers in the summer. She enjoyed music from the 50s, especially Elvis, and could often be found playing Bingo at the Moorhead VFW.

With her family by her side, Georgia died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Vibra Hospital, Fargo, at sixty-four years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Derald, Moorhead; daughter, Jodi (fiancé, Mike Anderson) Spieker, Fargo; son, Chad (Tina) Spieker, Sabin, MN; five grandchildren, Ashton, Gracin, Devinne, Hunter, and Blake; father, Gerald, Fargo; brothers, Clyde Tabery and Kevin Tabery, both Woodstock, GA; and two sisters, Tami Pedersen and Cindy Holmvik, both West Fargo, ND.

Georgia was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine; father-in-law, Ambrose Spieker; stepfather-in-law, Karl Mattson; and grandparents, Granny Meide, and Andrew and Hazel Tabery.

Visitation for Georgia will be Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 3 - 5 PM, with a prayer service at 5 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 21, 2014, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
