Evangeline Nelson Heng

Evangeline Maedean Fureby was born February 10, 1943, in Hawley, MN, to Andrew and Evelyn (Estrin) Fureby. Evangeline was raised in the Hawley and Rollag area, and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1961.

She married Noel Nelson on June 22, 1963, in Rollag, where they made their home. Evangeline owned and operated The Blue Willow, a home décor boutique, in Rollag. Noel died in 1995. She married Rev. Rolf Heng in 1997, in Hawley, and they made their home in Rollag until they moved to Moorhead, MN.

Evangeline and Rolf were very active in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church for many years, where Rolf served as a pastor.

Evangeline died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at her home in Moorhead, under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley, at seventy-two years of age.

Her husband, Rolf, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She is survived by her children, Andrew Nelson, Moorhead, Steffanie (John) McCarthy, Boulder, CO, and Erika (Jeff) Kokal, Chesterfield, MO; Rolf's children, Kirsten (Brad) Hutchison, and Karin (Burton) Stoesz, both Mountain Lake, MN, and Kathryn (Tim) Enderson, Fergus Falls, MN; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Adeline (Robert) Wolfe, Moorhead, Robert Fureby, Stan (Melen) Fureby, and Duane (Nancy) Fureby, all in California, and Gloria Bellefeuille, Fargo, ND.

Visitation for Evangeline will be Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Friday, October 2, 2015, at 11 AM, in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Glyndon.

Burial will be in Rollag Lutheran Cemetery.
