Doris Heinzen

Doris "Dorie" Heinzen, 72, Moorhead, MN, passed away from a massive stroke, Friday, August 8, 2014, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Dorie was born July 7, 1942, in Fargo. She married her husband, Mike, February 29, 1964, and became a loving mother of three and grandmother of four. An active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead, Dorie was involved with the Christian Mothers. Dorie took great comfort in First Corinthians 13: "Love is patient. Love is kind. Love bears all things, believes all things, and hopes all things. Love never ends."

Doris is survived by her husband, Mike, Moorhead; her daughter, Pam (Brian Dwyer) Heinzen, River Falls, WI; her son, Brian (Kris) Heinzen, Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren, Michael and Maren Johnson and Jacob and Lucas Heinzen; a sister, Della (Ronald) Peterson, Fargo; and a brother, Allen Bakkila, Moorhead. Doris was preceded in death by her son, Michael; mother, Faye; father, Elmer; and brother, Ralph.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2014, from 5 to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 218 10th St. South, Moorhead MN.

The Christian mass will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tuesday at 10 AM.

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
