Delores Dronen

Delores D. Dronen, 83, Jamestown, ND, formerly from Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Ave Maria Village and Hospice staff of Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Delores was born to Adolph and Gertrude (Enger) Kamphaug on January 27, 1933, on a farm near Hatton, ND. Delores attended school in Hatton. She moved to Fargo, ND, in 1951 and worked as a waitress. On June 26, 1953, she married Ansel Dronen and they lived in Newport, Rhode Island, during Ansel's service in the Navy. They also resided in Sturgis, SD, and in 1955 made their home in Moorhead, where they raised their two children.

Delores faithfully assisted her father in caring for her brothers and sister when she was younger. Ansel and Delores raised her youngest brother Derrall. Delores devotedly and lovingly cared for her husband, the love of her life, for many years until his death; and also cared for her mother.

She touched so many people's lives and warmed hearts through her smile, pictures, flowers, cards, personal visits, letters, phone calls, and her delicious cooking and baking. She was known as 'Grandma D' and loved her distinction.

Delores moved to Jamestown, to be near her daughter, in April 2015. She resided at Ave Maria Village.
Delores will be truly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Debbie (John) Gletne of Jamestown, and Dwight Dronen of Woodbury, MN; three grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Simon, Jill (Nick) Alvira, and Alexa Dronen; and a great-grandson, Zachary Alvira.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel; parents, Adolph and Gertrude; and all her siblings, Donnie, Donna, Douglas, and Derrall.

Visitation will be one hour prior to her service The funeral service will be Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 2:30 PM in Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
