Alvina Erickson

Alvina Erickson, 84, Dilworth, MN, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN.

Alvina Mary Schieffer, daughter of Lawrence and Regina Schieffer, was born in Sauk Centre, MN, on November 9, 1931. She grew up and received her education in Browerville, MN. As a young lady she moved to Fargo, ND, where she worked in the cafeteria of St. Luke's Hospital.
On April 29, 1952, Alvina was united in marriage to Raymond Erickson, in Browerville. They made their home in Fargo until their home was damaged in the 1957 tornado and the family relocated to Dilworth.

Alvina worked for the VFW club, Venice Gardens, and for many years at Silverline Boats in Moorhead. For 38 years, Alvina was an active volunteer at the Moorhead Thrift Store. She loved to sew. Her family was important to her, and she lived for her children and grandchildren.

Alvina is survived by three children, Royal (Mary) Erickson, Moorhead, Rick (Cora) Erickson, Glyndon, MN, and Cathy Martin, Lincoln, NE; sisters, Lorraine Kemmer, Dilworth, Marilyn (Richard) Trout, Wadena, MN, Marge (John) Duncan, Wadena; five grandchildren, Justin, Devon, and Matt Erickson, Kari Hedrick, and Katie Martin; and a number of great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, who died in 2004; a son, David; her parents; and two brothers, Edward and Roger.

Visitation for Alvina is Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 2 PM until 3 PM, with her funeral service at 3 PM, all in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
