It was a fortunate day for me when Helen started coming to my hair salon on Pelican Lake. We became fast friends and her weekly visit became a ritual of jokes, laughter, recipe exchanges and just fun conversation over a cup of coffee and a few cookies. We were joined in our beauty shop fun by LaVonne Lundeen, Norma Coleman and Grandma Johnson. After returning to to my teachng career in Detroit Lakes, I closed my salon. I missed seeing Helen every week. Her positive and upbeat personality and kind spirit will always be fondly remembered. It has been said,"friends are kisses blown to us by angels". Now, Helen is my heavenly friend, and I know she will continue the legacy of blowing kisses to her friends here on earth. My sympathy to you, Dave, and your family. God bless and love to you all.
