Message: I am a cousin to Dick. We ran around a lot together in our young years and into our teens. I have lots of memories of those times. We both played accordian and guitar together. I remember the "fort" we built behind the house on 5th avenue where we hid our cigarettes (we rolled our own with a Bugler machine and Prince Albert tobacco), got caught by Grandpa Pheul when he tore the fort down. I remember hanging out at the Waffle Shop until Dick finished clean-up so we could go out. I remember going out in the "Bull Dog" to "drag" Broadway looking for girls or other friends. Our car club was called the "Coasters". We were all so proud to be members. The club built a Stock Car for the 1/4 mile track at Glyndon. We used to drive it to and from the track (which was not allowed) on the gravel roads and in the ditches. Many, many memories. Very sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Sincerely,
Curt

Message: I grew up in Sabin and went to school with Dick at M.S. High from 7th grade thru 12th Grade. We enjoyed football and basketball. Even after Dick broke my nose in football practise (an accident, I am sure) we remained good friends. Dick was a good friend and teammate! Very sorry to learn of his passing at such a young age!
May good Bless his family!
