Message: I want my cousins to know how sad I feel to hear of the death of their Dad. Uncle Joe was always a very kind and gentle man. I remember one 4th of July at our cabin when everyone was water skiing and Uncle Joe decided he wanted to give it a try. He sat at the end of the wooden raft with one and a half good legs and gave it a try. He would get up and stay up for a short time and they fall. But he kept at it for at least a dozen tries and as I pulled him he would fall and get back up and give it another try. I think I know understand the reason that he was awarded the Purple Heart. He never gave up. He is now reunited with Donna in Heaven.
God Bless you all.

Message: I worked for Joe through HS and college and have fond memories of having supper at the Rex Cafe with Joe & Donna after closing the store Sat. nights. Joe was my mentor and was truly a great man. Glad I was able to visit him at Bethany recently. My thoughts & prayers are with the family.
