Charles Michael Edner was born February 15, 1951, in Breckenridge, MN, to Orville and Catherine (O’Leary) Edner. He was raised in Campbell, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1969.

Charlie was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Zarling, March 11, 1969, at St. Gall’s Catholic Church, in Tintah, MN. He began work for Interior Lumber Company, Fargo, ND, in 1969, as a truck driver and was later promoted to yard foreman. He worked there until 1989.

Charlie attended Moorhead (MN) Technical College in 1991 and 1992 and received a degree in Sales and Marketing. He began work for Builders Square, Fargo, until it closed and he then transferred to Midland, TX, where he helped build and manage the new Builders Square store. Charlie transferred once more, to manage the Builders Square store in Lubbock, TX, until he retired in 1999 due to health concerns.

With his family by his side, Charlie passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with heart problems, at fifty-five years of age.

Charlie is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Barbara; a son, Charles Jr.; a daughter, Janelle; and a grandson, Brendan, all of Moorhead; a brother, Steven (Mary) Edner, Bennett, CO; two sisters, Helen (George) DeSmidt, Roseville, MN, and Susan (Ron) Ehlers, Sheridan, WY; and many nieces and nephews, including Zachary, and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and John; and a sister, Jeannie Lawrence.

Visitation for Charlie will be Sunday, August 27, 2006, from 5 – 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 28, 2006, at 10:30 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
