Rose Hermann

Rose Marie Hermann was born July 19, 1924, to Leopold and Flora (Cossette) Brunelle, in Wild Rice, ND, where she was raised. Rose attended schools in that area and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Benedict, ND.

On January 7, 1947, Rose married Andrew L. Hermann in Fargo, ND, and they made their home on their farm near Georgetown, MN. Andrew died January 16, 1980, and Rose continued to live in Georgetown until moving to Moorhead in 1986. Rose died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in her home under hospice care, surrounded by her family.

Rose is survived by six daughters, Mary (Ernest) Normandin, Crookston, MN, Karen Hermann and Barbara (Mark) Thompson, both Moorhead, Patricia (Bernard) Audette, Cambridge, MN, Rose Hermann (Rick Thomas), Egland, ND, and Jean (Deon) Walton, Felton, MN; six sons, Jerome (Linda), Georgetown, Michael (Sheila), Dubuque, IA, Charles (Sharon), Grand Forks, ND, William (Mary) and Richard (Lisa), both Moorhead, and Thomas (Brenda), St. Thomas, ND; twenty-three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Zwack and Bea (Bob) Thomas, both Fargo, and Marcy Robinson, Bismarck, ND; and one brother, Raymond (Maryann) Brunelle, Colorado Springs, CO. There were many lives touched by her generosity, and Rose will live on in our hearts and memories as a loving, generous, intelligent, compassionate, courageous mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved to laugh and sing. She was a caregiver and continued to give until she went home to be with her Heavenly Father.
